APE squads usually incorporate a single multi-barreled .50 cal heavy machine gun into the suit of one of the team members. The back-mounted ammo drum for the HMG APE’s fearsome gun is so massive that his buddies have to carry the rest of his gear. Heavy struts allow the load and recoil of the weapon to transfer into the chassis superstructure so that it is wielded one-handed. Anything caught in the line of fire of the HMG APE is destined to become a steaming red mist.
